Apply to FCS

COVID-19 Status: While our campus is engaged in distance learning, the FCS Admissions Office continues to operate remotely. Admissions season for 2021-22 enrollment is now underway, and we welcome your inquiries.  COVID-19 has altered some of our admissions practices, but we are here, eager to speak with you, and happy to answer your questions.
Welcome to FCS! We look forward to getting to know your family.

Step 1: Visit Us

We host Open Houses, neighborhood evening receptions, spring info sessions, and personal tours. Refer to our Visit FCS page for the latest schedule of events.

Step 2: Online Profile

Click Start Your Inquiry to create an online profile and receive FCS Admissions news. We'll send you a username and password for the FCS portal, necessary for proceeding.

Step 3: Ask Current School for Documents

Before or while completing your online application (Step 4), arrange for your child's current school to submit teacher recommendations and school records directly to FCS. All supporting documents must be received prior to scheduling the student and parent meetings (Step 5). For applicants whose learning mode for the Fall 2020 semester is hybrid or fully remote, in addition to the required recommendation from the student's current teacher(s), we also welcome a supplemental recommendation from their teacher for the previous school year (2019-20).
Online teacher recommendation forms are preferred. Log into the FCS portal and send a recommendation request from your child's Admissions Progress page. Note: There are separate checklist steps for current teacher and previous teacher recommendations.)

Alternatively, download PDF copies to email to your teacher: Teacher Recommendation Form for Applicants to Kindergartenfor Applicants to Grades 1-6for Applicants to Grades 7-8 Language Arts and Grades 7-8 Math. We also accept the AISGW common student evaluation forms.

Applicants to Grades 1-8 should complete and submit the Request for School Records Form (Grades 1-8) to their current school's office or registrar.

Step 4: Submit Your Application

Click the "Apply Now" button to start an application. Log in with your FCS portal username and password or open a new account. You may pause and resume as necessary.

We encourage applications to be submitted early.
    • Early Application Deadline: Saturday, December 5, 2020 - Fee: $50
    • Regular Application Deadline: Friday, January 15, 2021 - Fee: $100
    • Post-Deadline: FCS continues to accept applications for select grades beyond the January15 deadline as space remains available. Please contact the Admissions Office for details before submitting a post-deadline application.

Please note that a separate application is required for Financial Aid.

Step 5: Student Visit & Parent Meeting

Please wait until FCS has received and processed your supporting documents to schedule your visits. Once you have submitted your application and we have received your supporting documents, our Admissions Office will contact you by email to schedule two appointments: a Student Visit and a Parent Meeting.

Student Visit
During our campus closure, student applicants will meet virtually with an FCS teacher for an informal conversation and academic screening. The duration of these sessions ranges from 20-45 minutes, depending on grade level.

Parent Meeting
All parents applying to FCS schedule a 30-minute meeting with the Director of Admissions. The Parent Meeting is an opportunity to talk about the match between your family and FCS and to have your questions answered.

FCS Admissions decisions are communicated by the first week of March for families applying by the deadline.
