"Ex-Day," FCS’s extended-day program
, is a supervised period for students to run around outside, play games, do arts and crafts, and generally be kids. A quiet Homework Club provides both desks and relaxed seating and help as needed from adults. Themed activities and service projects round out the Ex-Day program, which is used by an average of 73% of FCS families in a given month.
Each semester, FCS offers a diverse array of after-school enrichment classes
for students in grades K through 8 in subjects ranging from yoga to role-playing games.
FCS offers a robust after-school instrumental music program for students in grades 4 through 8. FCS musicians consistently win the highest markings in county-run solo and ensemble festivals, and many graduates receive spots and scholarships in high school band programs.
