Welcome to FCS, Aimee Farley
Today, Friends Community School announced the hiring of Aimee Farley as the next Head of Middle School. Aimee will assume the position on July 1, 2020.
Aimee comes to FCS from Sandy Spring Friends School, where she has taught middle school Humanities for the past 17 years and served in various leadership roles, including Social Studies Department Chair, Middle School Diversity Coordinator, and Director of Academic Transitions, overseeing the transition of Sandy Spring Friends students from one division to another as well as the high school placement process. Aimee is a graduate of Illinois State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Secondary School Social Science.
During her campus visit at FCS, Aimee had the opportunity to meet with middle school teachers, students, and parents. Aimee impressed the search committee with her insight, knowledge of and love for middle schoolers, and experience and appreciation of Quaker education.
Aimee says, “I am delighted to join Friends Community School as the next Head of Middle School! From the moment I stepped onto campus, I could feel the spirit and energy of the students and faculty and knew this was a special place. I am looking forward to working in partnership with students, faculty, and families, as we continue on this journey of creating mindful and engaged lifelong learners.”
We look forward to welcoming Aimee to FCS this summer.
