Neal Brown

Neal joined FCS as Interim Head of School in the summer of 2023. Previously, Neal served as Interim Lower School Director for Creative Minds International Public Charter School in Washington, DC. Prior to his time at Creative Minds, he held the role of Interim Head of School for two years at Lansdowne Friends School in Pennsylvania. For 12 years, from 2008-2020, Neal served as Head of School at Green Acres School in North Bethesda. Neal is a committed progressive educator with nearly 35 years of educational experience, including in Quaker schools. He has served as a classroom teacher, consultant/coach, assistant head and head of school, and member of a board of trustees. Outside of school, Neal enjoys spending time with his family, 15-year-old Cockapoo, Stanley, and two cats, Sherlock and Watson!
