Welcome to FCS! We look forward to getting to know your family.
Step 1: Visit Us
Come visit, if you haven’t already! For prospective parents, we host six Open Houses during our admissions season (October through January) and also can schedule personal tours. For more information, see Visit FCS.
Step 2: More Information
To find out more about the school, click Start Your Inquiry at right. If you decide to apply, the information from your Start Your Inquiry form will transfer automatically to your application.
Step 3: Apply
Click the "Apply Now" button at right to start an online application. You will be prompted to log in with the username and password from your previous online inquiry, or open a new account. The online application allows you to pause and resume as necessary and apply for more than one child. We encourage applications to be submitted early.
Early Application Deadline: Friday, December 1, 2017 - Fee: $50
Regular Application Deadline: Friday, January 12, 2018 - Fee: $100
As completed applications are submitted, Student Visits and Parent Meetings are scheduled. Please note that a separate application is required for Financial Aid (deadline Tuesday, January 16, 2018).
Step 4: Submit your forms
Download the Request for School Records Form (Grades 1-8) and the Teacher Recommendation Form/s (one for Kindergarten, one for Grades 1-6, two for Grades 7-8). Arrange to have your child’s complete current school records and the teacher recommendation form/s sent directly to the Admissions Office as soon as possible. Home-schooled children need a recommendation from a non-family member who knows the child well, preferably in an educational capacity (music lessons, coach, religious school, etc.). All forms must be received by Friday, December 8 (Early Applicants), or Friday, January 19 (Regular Applicants), at the latest.
Step 5: Student Visit
All students applying to FCS are invited to visit the school. Applicants for Kindergarten and First Grade are invited to one of several morning playdates with other applicants and a team of FCS teachers. Applicants for grades 2-8 are invited to spend a day at the school, so that they become familiar with our students and the way they learn, and we get to know them. Applicants will be contacted to schedule these visits.
Step 6: Parent Meeting
All families applying to FCS are invited to meet with Connie Belfiore, Director of Admissions and Outreach, and Larry Clements, Head of School, in back-to-back interviews that typically take an hour total. The Parent Meeting is an opportunity to talk about the match between your family and FCS, and to have all of your questions answered. Applicants will be contacted to schedule these visits.
Admissions decisions are made and communicated in early March.
FCS values diversity and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national or ethnic origin. We welcome and celebrate families of all faiths and backgrounds.
