“I want students to understand the history that happened and the consequences that follow.”
Landslides, mudslides, wildfires, and floods are no match for Jacqueline, a former FEMA operational planner on the West Coast and then in the Gulf states following Hurricane Katrina. With degrees in American history and American studies, Jacqueline has worked as a teaching assistant at the college level and a long-term 5th grade substitute teacher. She began subbing at FCS in 2017 before joining the front office team, where she enjoyed the challenge of learning every student’s and parent’s name. She also taught middle-school summer camp in sewing and baking. In her spare time, she enjoys reading non-fiction, especially biographies. Jacqueline’s son Declan is an FCS 5th grader and her daughter Olympia is an FCS 3rd grader.
