FCS Alumna Visits with Camera

When our building was just an idea, Stephanie Natoli was a student at the old site of FCS. She and her classmates walked this wetland property to envision how a new building would be sited. With a shovel and a hardhat, she was one of the students who broke ground for the building’s construction. And her class was the first to graduate from these halls.
Eight years later, Stephanie is back at FCS, making a video about what’s special about our school. The project is for a class at the University of Maryland, where she is a senior majoring in community health with a talent for photography. The first version of her video is shared here, on the FCS portal; more footage is coming. Stephanie is also taking pictures for our website.

For the video, Stephanie asked students who were between classes to step into the library to share a few thoughts on what they like about our school. Interestingly, all of them zero in on the school’s sense of community.

Stephanie’s mother, Sharon Natoli, sometimes also visits the school with a camera. She is a professional photographer who has captured many of the iconic images used on our website that capture the school’s natural light—not easy to photograph—and our students’ natural sense of joy—a quality that seems not to have changed since Stephanie’s years at FCS.
