Ben Kintisch

Lower School Music Teacher and Instrumental Music Coordinator
Ben joined the FCS faculty in the Fall of 2022 bringing with him more than a decade of experience in music education in schools in New York, New Jersey, and Maryland.  Most recently he served as the chorus and world music teacher at Strickler Middle School in Dundalk, MD. In spite of the challenges of teaching music during a pandemic he found ways to create a beautiful and calming classroom environment that benefitted all learners and he looks forward to doing the same thing here. He spent several years as an elementary school music teacher in Brooklyn, NY working in both independent and public schools where gained experience in special education and bilingual teaching. Ben also has extensive experience in Jewish communal and education work having served as Cantor for the Columbia Jewish Congregation in Columbia, MD and Chaplain for the Jewish Social Service Agency (JSSA) Hospice Program in Montgomery County. When he’s not teaching music or supporting his religious community, Ben enjoys walking, listening to audiobooks, gardening, playing piano, watercolor painting, songwriting, bowling, and  snowboarding. He is a musical theater lover and creator of Life Review: The Hospice Musical.
