Brian Belstock

3/4 Teacher

“Knowledge is gained by learning; trust by doubt; skill by practice and love by love.” -Thomas S. Szasz
“The more risks you allow children to take, the more they learn to take care of themselves…” –Roald Dahl

Brian has worked in independent schools for more than 20 years. He has taught everything from Kindergarten through middle school both during the regular school day and throughout the summer. Most recently, he worked at The Diener School in Potomac, MD and The Auburn School in Silver Spring. He brings a wealth of experience in whole-child education including training in Responsive Classroom which we use at FCS. Through his work, Brian aims to teach and mentor students in a motivational way that encompasses the whole child; provides a safe and interactive learning environment; and holds students’ best interest at heart. He enjoys sharing his love of the outdoors with students through interactive lessons and instills an appreciation of nature and the world around us in students. When he is not in the classroom, you can find Brian skiing, hiking or camping with his girlfriend and family. Brian is looking forward to taking advantage of the outdoor space at FCS and to working with students who share a love of learning.
