Shauna Brown Leung

Director of Equity, Inclusion and Community Life

“We are all caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied together into a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly” - Martin Luther King, Jr.
Shauna joined FCS in the fall of 2022 to become our first Director of Equity, Inclusion and Community Life. She brings more than twenty years of experience integrating attention to equity into learning experiences for educators, students, and families. Teaching social studies in Montgomery County Public Schools, serving on the Instructional Rounds Faculty at Harvard University, and consulting with private and public school improvement teams are a few of her favorite professional roles. Shauna has also enjoyed partnering with leaders in the National Park Service, churches, non-profit organizations and school communities in the work of developing shared understanding and ownership of the work of confronting persistent obstacles to equity and inclusion in their organizations. Shauna finds joy getting lost in a good book,  connecting to the natural world, traveling, and laughing with family and friends.
