It is so easy to find fault and complain about what is wrong with the world and others in it. But how often do we truly express thanks and gratitude for the people, things, and experiences in our lives?
I have recently started to bring order to my office at school and in arranging things I was pleasantly reminded of how willingly children express thanks. I came across notes and drawings that they have given me. Their words are simple and sometimes misspelled but their appreciation is so easily given.

As I write this piece, I am watching them running around without a care in the world. When and why do we let those cares weigh us down as adults? When do we begin to find it difficult to give thanks or say thank you?

May we find a moment in each day to show appreciation for someone else.

In peace and partnership,
