March 15, 2019

We ask a lot of our teachers here at FCS. They know that they are expected to design engaging lessons, provide regular feedback to students and parents, mediate misunderstandings among students, incorporate instructional technology and data collection tools, orchestrate our unique birthday celebrations, organize field trips, and grow professionally through connections to regional and national educational associations. We teach because we find this work to be gratifying and fulfilling.
This week’s Faculty and Staff Appreciation Tea was a wonderful break from the routine. Many parents contributed delicious foods and desserts, refreshing beverages, and fresh fruit. More than a dozen volunteers transformed the gathering space into a welcoming space where faculty and staff could relax, share stories of family and vacation plans, and hopes for the weeks ahead. A box of treats and personal affirmations from students and parents were provided to all.

Sincere thanks to the teachers who have worked so hard this year and to the many parents who contributed or volunteered to serve at the at this week’s appreciation event.

In Peace,

Larry
