New Friends, PawPaw and Moonglow

This week, we welcomed five new trees to the Friends Community School campus.
With the help of students from the Lower School, we planted two Pawpaws (a native fruit-bearing tree), one Asian pear, one Moonglow pear, and one English walnut. The trees were planted in our very own, extra-rich FCS compost. In three to five years, they should start to bear fruit!
Next project: herbs and flowers will go into the classroom garden beds. The seeds sprouted last weekend; you can see them in mini greenhouse near the FCS front doors.
