WELCOME!
Welcome to Extended Day for the 2006/2007 school year. We are happy to see so many familiar faces returning and glad to have the chance to welcome so many new friends.
MORNING
Extended Day-Morning begins at 8:00am. Children arriving before 8:00am must wait with an adult until Extended Day Staff arrives and opens the school. There is no charge for elementary children arriving after 8:45am, or for 7th and 8th graders arriving after 8:25am.
AFTERNOON
Extended Day-Afternoon begins at 3:00pm (2pm on Wednesdays). Any student not picked up after school will automatically be sent to the Extended Day-Afternoon program and parents will be charged. Extended Day-Afternoon ends at 6:00pm. Late fees are charged for students not picked up by 6:00pm.
HOLIDAY/VACATION
Extended Day-Vacation will be offered on some days when most students are not in school. Announcements will be made in the School Bulletin. This Extended Day begins at 8:00am and ends at 6:00pm.
When the school has a delayed opening or an early closing due to inclement weather or an emergency, Extended Day is NOT available.
HOMEWORK CLUB
Homework Club meets 3:15-4:00pm Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays and 2:00-3:00pm on Wednesday. Our goal is to provide a structured setting for 3rd through 8th graders to work on their homework assignments. Seventh and eighth graders will meet at 3:30-4:15pm on Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri and on Wednesdays at 2:30-3:30pm. Extended Day staff will be available to provide support and guidance.
EXTENDED DAY BASICS
Extended Day is provided for parent teacher conferences free of charge. When conference sign-up occurs, you will be asked whether you will need Extended Day facilities or not. If you use Extended Day during a conference, please indicate this on the sign out sheet.
To avoid accidental billing you must sign-in with the Extended Day staff when dropping off and picking up your child. When signing your child out, please sign your initials along with the time you picked up your child. We are trying to avoid charging the full duration of Extended Day hours. Signing your children in and out of Extended Day is also important for your child's safety. Children must have a note for being picked up by someone other than their parent. Leave the note with the Extended Day staff, office staff, or your child's classroom teacher. Identification is required from the person picking up that student.
